Reviewer Alex

"Easy float, let me hike, surf and play any terrain. I don't like a powder board to be too flexible, because I want to lay some trenches on the groomers too. When the snow starts falling in the evening, I get happily nervous for the next day."

Backcountry in (free)style

Nitro Diablo is a very playful and forgiving board that performs best in backcountry slopes. And as forgiving as the Diablo is, it makes it a perfect snowboard for those who start to explore off-piste terrain. I am not saying it is a beginners board, too good for that with edge grip and rebound. But once you have left that stage and start wondering how it is to leave the secured slopes for some powder, the Nitro Diablo makes it easy for you. Plus everyone who simply likes to play, jump, land and use the natural obstacles to have fun will enjoy this board for a long time as well The offer of all these qualities make that the Nitro Diablo is not very stiff and stable at speed. A 3 star rating with my preferences is obvious probably.

Forgiving in all soft snow

The forgiving nature of the Nitro Diablo does make life easy and relaxed once slopes get bumpy. Take the desired speed level a bit back and use the terrain to maneuver your board through with. On piste the edge hold is not that bad either and the switch fairly easy. On firmer groomers you'll find the speed limits of the Diablo quite soon. Softer groomers are nice for making short turns at medium speed. But most fun I get with the Nitro Diable is in powder where I can surf and float in a relaxed manner. The word 'playful' keeps coming back while testing the Diablo in every condition.

Nitro about the Diablo

"Back by popular demand, we are proud to offer the greatest all-mountain snowboard in more sizes this season, so everyone can get a taste of what the Diablo has to offer. The twin tip shape allow you to float with style in any direction while effortlessly progressing to new heights. The Asymmetrical shape combined with our Power Pods provides you with a heel side carve that will blow your mind. Created to destroy the entire mountain and spray every skier in your way.", says Nitro. Nice description, gives me a smile. Playful board, easy to control, perfect if you wanna freestyle in powder.
