Advanced+ level powder boarder
Steef's rating of this snowboard:
Considering his boarders profile:
"In powder I want float and a bit of flex. I don't mind to work hard for a perfect powder run, as long as it pays off. Blue skies, bottomless powder describes paradise. Looking for adventure sometimes brings me to the edge."
My favourite powder snowboards:
1. Völkl Squad Prime
2. GNU Beast
3. Burton Barracuda

The Nitro Quiver Pow! For those who love to stay all day in deep powder this is your mate! Playful, float, maneuverability, fast, the Nitro Quiver Pow got plenty of it all (as long as you stay in powder). The amount of float in powder comes from the width of the board of course, not the length. On piste of course you experience the limits of the powder design and you have to be careful with the short tail, but for crossing pistes to go from one powder field to another is no problem at all.
What a nice surprise is this board! It looks strange and you have to be careful on piste not to put too much weight on your back leg, or it will break out because of the very short tail. But besides that the grip is not bad at all. And the Nitro Quiver Pow gives the possibility to have a lot of fun at the sides of the pistes. You know those places which other people try to avoid because of the mostly loose and bumpy snow conditions. And then off-piste with the Quiver Pow: Wow, this thing rips! So much flow and control in the board, it all feels so natural. Very very fast and nimble without getting nervous, just perfect! For this a true 5 star rating from me for the Nitro Quiver Pow!
Nitro about the Quiver Pow
"THE ALL-MOUNTAIN SURFER
Hand designed by Austin Smith in his Bend, OR home. This board was designed to be as quick as possible, without loosing the oat you need in nipple deep pow. The wide nose and extremely tapered shape will allow you to keep speed in any terrain while the TRÜE Camber allows you to quickly maneuver through trees and stop huge cliffs. The Pow board has tested and proven technology by Austin and Bryan in Japan, Alaska, The Alps, and all over the US backcountry. The most fun way to ride pow!", says Nitro. I can only totally agree with this description.
Burton Gate Keeper: more traditional freeride board.
Bataleon Camel Toe: great floatation and good freerider.
K2 Cool Bean: same concept, short and wide for riding pow.
