Advanced+ level powder boarder
Steef's rating of this snowboard:
Considering his boarders profile:
"In powder I want float and a bit of flex. I don't mind to work hard for a perfect powder run, as long as it pays off. Blue skies, bottomless powder describes paradise. Looking for adventure sometimes brings me to the edge."
My favourite powder snowboards:
1. Völkl Squad Prime
2. GNU Beast
3. Burton Barracuda

A real flagship
The Jones Flagship (161 cm) snowboard is a board that combines many qualities in one. It is very good in powder. It is very good on groomers as well, loads of grip, maneuverable, good control and comfortable. The Flagship looks nice too. What do you want more? If you are lookng for a one quiver this board comes close to perfect. For advanced to expert riders who can get out the most of it. For less experienced riders the Jones Flagship might be a bit too responsive and scary.
Great one quiver board
When I put the Jones Flagship board on, it felt like coming home, very trustful and natural. In deep snow the Flagship has a wonderful float and you can do long powder lines as well as taking it down through the forest while it is also very maneuverable. On piste it stays comfortable even on high speed levels. You can ride it aggressive with the nice pop it has in it, and you can really nail it down in high speed carving turns because the amount of grip is phenomenal. 5 Stars definitely.
Jones about the Flagship
"Seen in lift lines at the heaviest resorts the world over, the Flagship has locked down the reputation as the most confidence inspiring snowboard on the planet. Jeremy Jones has spent the last 20 years honing every detail of the Flagship to offer such breakthrough performance. For 2017 we overhauled the Flagship by using new materials and fine tuning the shape. Power V Basalt stringers add torsional stability while the Spoon 3.0 Nose and Tail deliver mind bending glide and float. The wood topsheet on the Flagship has been replaced with Flax Fiberglass for added ECO-performance and the Mellow Magne-traction profile has been improved for added edge grip on hardpack.", says Jones.
"Directional Rocker. A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more tip rocker then tail rocker and camber between the bindings. The rockered tip floats the board’s nose and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free initiating turns and landing switch. "My experience is that most falls in freeriding start from the nose of the board – you either go over the bars in powder, the nose gets caught under a weird crust and tosses you, or you hit a hard tranny at the contact point of the tip and get bucked. Directional Rocker eliminates most of these falls." - Jeremy Jones. Yes, the flagship board delivers!
Nitro Highlander: lightweight easier top-end snowboard.
Rossignol XV Magtek: great versatile board as well.
Burton Gate Keeper: if the Flagship is too much, this might suit you better.
