Expert level freerider
Alex's rating of this snowboard:
Considering his boarders profile:
"Easy float, let me hike, surf and play any terrain. I don't like a powder board to be too flexible, because I want to lay some trenches on the groomers too. When the snow starts falling in the evening, I get happily nervous for the next day."
My favourite freeride snowboards:
1. Jones Carbon Flagship
2. Nitro Mountain
3. Jones Flagship

Float and carve
The Burton Flight Attendant is part of the Family Tree series. The Flight Attendant is a freeride snowboard with quite a big flexible shovel tip. Floatation is taken care off with that and you can handle a lot of powder without a problem. As with all boards the Flight Attendant will take you back to the lift on groomers too. Quality in carving is limited though. Let's say medium as it is fine riding on the edge but at higher speed the rocker tip of the Flight Attendant tends to vibrate and makes the ride nervous. It is a trade I guess, more comfy float for less stability at high speed on piste. At medium speed the stability is fine. And all together the qualities of this Burton board for carving and riding powder are sufficient.
Room for improvement
Especially intermediate level snowboarders will have a good one with the Burton Flight Attendant. As it won't punish slight mistakes, it is a very good board to have fun and improve your skills. Freeriding big powder lines with Rossignol XV Magtek or carving with fantastic rebound on the Nitro Pantera SC is far away from the qualities of the Flight Attendant. But intermediates shouldn't step in those straight away, take a board like the Burton Attendant first. Very good and supplies comfort and you'll get down any slope.
Burton about the Flight Attendant
"Slayers of natural terrain, take this board and set your eye to the sky: the final frontier for freeride glory.
Designed to be a terrain-slaying alternative to more traditional twin shapes, the Burton Flight Attendant is a freethinker that dissects both pow and hard-pack with equal precision. Balanced Freeride Geometry is the secret with setback camber and sidecut that are centered on your stance to create a twin freestyle feel when riding flat base. On edge the board turns tight and quick, with entry rocker and taper for added float and flow. Less big mountain than the Landlord but more aggressive and directional than the Custom, the Flight Attendant finds the sweet spot for everything from steep lines and spontaneous slashes to wind-lips and pillows. Now available in both wider and smaller sizes than ever.", says Burton.
Arbor Wasteland: better and easy carve, plus great in powder.
Rossignol XV Magtek: stiffer powder tank for big line freeriding.
Salomon Reserve: stable at speed and carves steady too.
