Advanced+ level all-mountain boarder
Alex's rating of this snowboard:
Considering his boarders profile:
"Which board has the highest limits on every terrain? Push and enjoy it to the max everywhere. Adrenaline comes from sharp long carves till blinding amounts of fresh snow in the woods. All-mountain snowboards should be able to handle it all."
My favourite all-mountain snowboards:
1. Nitro Pantera
2. Amplid UNW8
3. Capita Supernova

Camber with zero camber
The Nitro .38 Special is a versatile all-mountain snowboard. Anywhere on groomers and side country it provides an easy good ride. I wouldn't say it excels in something specific but the total package is good. The camber parts provide some nice rebound. The comfort is that Nitro built in a zero camber zone between your feet, it takes the extreme punishment out. Also the extreme acceleration out of your carve by the way, but the Nitro .38 Special by itself is quite fast. The stability of the board is good, with a response rate of 8/10 it is precise and not so forgiving. To give you a comparison, the Nitro Pantera has the same response rate, just with full camber. I like the Nitro .38 Special, I only miss the extra bite, the challenge. Still, versatile as it is and riding nice on the edges, the .38 Special is a 4 star board for me.
The comfort provided by the .38 Special on groomers is continued once you leave the piste. With a mid-wide waist you can count on enough float in fresh snow. The resonsiveness of the .38 Special is feelable in maneuverabitlity here. At lower speed the board is still easy to direct and forgives enough to keep it relaxed. As the Nitro .38 Special is not so extreme, intermediate level snowboarders will find it a nice challenge. More advanced level riders can choose it to go everywhere and play around with the terrain. The .38 Special is a nicely balanced snowboard for around the resort.
Nitro about the .38 Special
"TThe .38 Special was specifically designed to be a top of the line lightweight, directional all-mountain snowboard packed with pop from our Roofchop Camber. This powerful board was built to meet the high demands of those who like to engage in hauling ass down the mountain no matter what type of terrain lies ahead. For this type of mindset they need a board they can trust to deliver control, comfort, and precision in any situation – Prepare to attack!", says Nitro. No extremes, nothing unmatched, a good versatile board for a lot of recreational boarders to have fun with all around the resort.
Burton Flight Attendant: more float and fine at medium speed on groomers.
Rossignol One Magtek: just as versatile and playful.
Arbor Wasteland: very good as well, carves and maneuvers more precise.
