Advanced+ level all-mountain boarder
Alex's rating of this snowboard:
Considering his boarders profile:
"Which board has the highest limits on every terrain? Push and enjoy it to the max everywhere. Adrenaline comes from sharp long carves till blinding amounts of fresh snow in the woods. All-mountain snowboards should be able to handle it all."
My favourite all-mountain snowboards:
1. Nitro Pantera
2. Amplid UNW8
3. Capita Supernova

Carve Air: Small but loud
The K2 Carve Air is a remarkable appearance for an all-mountain snowboard. Short in length at only 149 and 154, I took the longest one. Sometimes you have expectations of a board because of previous experiences, that was different with the K2 Carve Air. Always nice to explore new shapes. I call the Carve Air: small, but loud. Just the length gives it a very maneuverable quality while the core strength doesn't make it too soft and forgiving. Carving short and powerful is a delight, the K2 Carve Air splits bumps on the piste when you want it. Even the stability at higher speed is quite good. You can keep control and throw it either way you want it on piste, very cool. As we don't see so many of these boards on the market it is nice for a change at least. 4 stars for the carving fun and maneuverability on piste.
Good bite, fun for advanced too
So the K2 Carve Air rides like the wind on groomers in any condition. And because of its modest length it is still fine maneuverable. I like the bite it has, the power it hides unless released. This is better than in the K2 Cool Bean, another special shaped K2 board which has more powder suitability. Terrain wise the Carve Air is limited as you might understand, for deep powder and backcountry riding you want something with more float. Being quite stiff it might be a good idea not to underestimate the Carve Air and get some skills first. This one is for carving and using the terrain for some air time. Consider this, the K2 Carve Air has the length of an easy intermediate board with the power and stiffness for advanced snowboard level.
K2 about the Carve Air
"The K2 Enjoyers just earned their Masters in Advanced Partyboarding, and the Carve Air is the radical fruit of their labors. Revolutionary Volume Shift™ tech has unlocked surfier maneuverability than previously possible, and our Precision Lifted Baseline™ brings boarders to entirely unprecedented levels of pop. Raising the flat, ride-able surface between tip and tail gives the Carve Air the energy of a camber board without sacrificing the precision and straight tracking achieved with flat camber underfoot. A K2 carbon Ollie Bar™ and edgy tip and tail design are bringing the party – don’t miss it.
Features: Precision Lifted Baseline™, Volume Shift™, Tweekend™, Ollie Bar™, Directional Outline, 261mm Waist Width (154cm), 5-7cm shorter than your standard board length", says K2.
Rossignol One Magtek: very maneuverable as well, adapts nicely to conditions.
Burton Custom Mystery: all-mountain board, top-end and same snowboard level required.
K2 Cool Bean: another special board from K2, if you want more powder quality and relaxed riding.
