"Which board has the highest limits on every terrain? Push and enjoy it to the max everywhere. Adrenaline comes from sharp long carves till blinding amounts of fresh snow in the woods. All-mountain snowboards should be able to handle it all."

Relative easy to ride camber snowboard
The Burton Custom snowboard lets me ride easy and relaxed. Camber provides excitement, but my expectations were higher though. The moment I put extra effort in the Custom, it lets me down a bit, which gives an indication that probably intermediate skills fit this all-mountain board. Testing this Burton board gave me the feeling of an easy day at the office. Short turns are very easy and the snowboard is fine in a bit of powder, but too soft for aggressive carving. It is playful and not really stable at high speed. Suitable for intermediate boarders, who can have a good time on every terrain as the Custom is quite forgiving.
Custom for powder snow
It handles very easy on a slightly soft piste. A bit too easy for me. As I have the feeling that I don’t get the pop and speed back from the power I put into carving. To me, its not suitable for something even close to racecarving. But for short turns, playing a bit in a small amount of powder on the piste its nice. It reacts very quickly and is easy to steer. I didn’t have bottomless powder off piste while testing, so i will keep it to expectations based on what I had. The amount of float might not be enough to go into deep powder on the less steep slopes. That would mean that the muscles of the back leg will need to be made of steel for some long runs. For deep powder there are a lot of better snowboards of course. On the other hand the easy turning will help.
Burton about the Custom
"No other board can claim a legacy as the most trusted (and imitated) answer to all styles and any terrain.
Since its humble beginnings, innovation has defined the Burton Custom series and set it apart as the most popular, versatile, and mimicked board in snowboarding. Since 1996, this icon has reigned supreme with a proven formula that combines time-honored design and envelope-pushing ingredients for a lightweight, poppy, and stable board that was unheard of two decades ago. Offered in two versions, the precision and stability of camber is the top choice for pros like Mikkel Bang, while Flying V™ combines camber’s power with the relaxed float of rocker for the best of both worlds.", says Burton. To me the Burton Custom camber is a versatile good board which is nice for intermediate riders who like to explore all parts of the mountain. Better boarders who want power and unforgiveness should look further.

Salomon Pulse: just as good and compareable, very popular in the renting branche. Nitro Pantera: a lot of edge grip at high speed carving plus unforgiving, for better boarders. Burton Custom X: if you outgrow the Custom board and you like it, this is the logical step up.
