Expert level all-mountain boarder
Steef's rating of this snowboard:
Considering his snowboarders profile:
"Enjoying the whole mountain needs a maximum of piste carving, float in powder and playfulness. And for some decent carving on piste with acceleration a condition is good edge grip and camber. I am prepared to work for it."
My favourite all-mountain snowboards:

To all my reviews
A true one-quiver board
The Amplid UNW8 (tested at 163W) is a very light weight weapon for the experienced riders. Whether it is powder or groomers, this board can do all perfectly well in hands of a skilled rider. Although the UNW8 is very very light weighted, it is still very stiff. If you are not used to this kind of power monsters with this much pop, you have to be cautious, or the Amplid UNW8 kills you!
Light-weighted power snowboard
Light, stiff, sharp, pop, control, full speed, power turns, everything is perfect on the Amplid UNW8! Awesome board with so much energy in it! It will give you everything back you put in it and more. The UNW8 board is very light weighted and yet very powerful. The result is incredible control. So easy it changes direction, so much grip, so much control on high speed, this is definitely one of my favourites! With my boot size 9 it wasn't necessary to try the 163 wide version but I did, and it felt very good. Because of the extra width the board has a nice float in the powder. So if you are looking for a high end one quiver board this wide version of the Amplid UNW8 will definitely not disappoint you!
Amplid about the UNW8
"Beneath a suit of sophisticated artwork the UNW8 is concealing a ferocious character. Unrelenting edge-hold is a by-product of the UNW8’s full-length Pop Camber and V-Pop Stringers which focus rider inputs at its contact points and intensify its pop. Weight-reducing HEXO2 Technology and Amplid’s Lite Core, a featherweight core constructed from batons of hand selected low density Poplar, make the UNW8 feel connected and responsive underfoot and effortless in the air. This is a board which responds best to the aggressive and powerful riding styles of expert snowboarders.
New All-Terrain Tips, which conceal extra surface area and a smooth radius, boost the UNW8 floatation in soft snow conditions. Longer contact points, part of the UNW8’s innovative new geometry, lock onto firm snow in steep terrain and stabilize the board at hair-raising speeds.
Expect all the brutality of previous UNW8s with a touch of refinement."", says Amplid. Yes, I just totally agree.
Nitro Pantera: also very stiff but not that light weighted and more piste orientated.
Capita the Black Snowboard of Death: similar.
Rossignol XV Magtek: similar but not that light weighted.
