"On piste I like the shorter slalom turns better than the longer turns, it feels more dynamic. As I usually ski all day long, I like my skis to be a challenge but not too stiff, so I can carve and cruise at the same time."
The Salomon X-Race SC at 175 cm length is fantastic for skiers whom have an ambition to ski Giant Slalom skis, but the toughest GS skis for recreational skiers are just too much. With the X-Race SC you'll find a nice step up from sportive piste skis and a step down from sidewall Giant Slalom skis. The SC variant is still very fast and mortals like me with no super ski skills, but with power and energy have a fantastic time on slik groomers with it. The ski is stiff enough for me to ignore small bumps and thunder down the piste in large turns. And at bigger bumpy pustes I am happy that it doesn't punish like the SC variant. For expert skiers maybe not enough and they can better go for the Salomon X-Race SW variant, stiffer and more unforgiving. This X-Race SC ski is for me good though and worth 4 stars.
Change of radius with length
With the length of the Salomon X-Race SC the radius changes. And although I usually like slalom size turns better, this X-Race SC is a lot of fun for me too. I need that bit of forgivingness apparantly. Edge grip is still amazingly good, I can push this GS ski unlimited and it won't give in. Stability is no issue either and the edge switch is fast. This Giant Slalom ski is enough for me to ski all day, is what my legs say. What a fantastic sport, blowing up your legs can be so worth it.
