Intermediate+ level piste skier
Steef's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"For me skiing on piste is all about testing the limits of speed and grip of the skis, both slalom and giant slalom. Comfort and flex are less important to me than stability. Skiing is supposed to take a lot of energy out of you."
My favourite piste skis:
1. Atomic Redster D2 GS
2. Stöckli Laser SX
3. Fischer RC4 Worldcup RC
To all my reviews
The Head i.Supershape Magnum (1.70 m) loves speed. It's quite a stiff ski which can be demanding on bumps. But on groomed slopes, it is very stable at high speed. Asking you to draw longer turns on the piste, even with some fresh snow on it, and always giving you enough grip. Shorter turns demands more power though and is not what feels natural to do with them, despite the short radius. A bit limited usability and that's why a 3 star rating for me.
Yes, this is a very good looking ski. And as mentioned, it is doing quite well in speeding down and longer turns. But that's about it as I'm concerned. Because it is that stiff, the dampening on bumps I found not perfect. The grip is good on groomed slopes and OK on softer snow. But the ski doesn't ask me to try the limits of carving, or to play around on disordered areas. I honestly found it a bit, ehm, colorless.

"A fast yet manageable, fully equipped speed machine. For all day on piste skiers.", says Head. Fast and long turns yes, fully equipped for that and that only.
