Advanced freeride skier
Craig's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"Powder bump runs with numerous face shots, creamy untracked pow turns, and even huge carve turns on empty groomed runs at the beginning of the day are my favorite. I am not a high speed skier."

Dou you prefer a ski with full rocker?
The Völkl 1 returns in the 2017 - 2018 season with a new name, and new graphics, "Völkl Bash". Construction will be unchanged, with a multi layer wood core (poplar-ash), and carbon stringers. The wider Völkl 2 has been discontinued, and the Bash will be Völkl's widest offering for 2017-18.
This 116 underfoot ski has very good turn initiation, but requires thoughtful edge engagement to prevent chatter on chalky groomers, based on this tune. However, the Bash loves high edge angles, and has a very good edge grip. Stability is quite good at speed, and carve turns are good at all radius.
The Völkl Bash is manageable in bumps, with moderate damping, and softer flex. It's full rocker does enhance turn initiation.
Völkl advertises the Bash as a powder ski, that also works in cut up conditions, crud, and crust.
