Advanced freeride skier
Craig's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"Powder bump runs with numerous face shots, creamy untracked pow turns, and even huge carve turns on empty groomed runs at the beginning of the day are my favorite. I am not a high speed skier."

Excellent powder stick for park riders
I am writing quick reviews on 13 new 2016-17 Freeride skis that I rode during the SIA demo days. Conditions were soft, with 12 inches falling on the previous two days. Some face shots in the bumps early on the first day, with cut up groomers to test stability, and skied off areas to check edge grip.
My first observation is, this ski has a more center mount, and will cater to park skiers, who prefer this position. The ski feels very short upfront, but this was the intended design. For me, as a directional skier, it was difficult to manage at higher speeds, and felt unstable in this length. Short radius turns at slower speeds were good.
The Mordecai is actually very good in soft bumps, and I kicked up some nice face shots in these conditions. I could comfortable dive the tips into the face of the soft bumps, even though I would rate the dampness as, moderately light.
With its short front, and lack of stability at speed, this would not be my top choice for powder conditions.
- Demo bindings mounted at recommended standard for this ski. These bindings add weight, stiffness, and dampening to a ski.
- weight: 2029 g/ski @ 186cm.
- flex: medium- medium soft.
Line about the Mordecai
"Never satisfied, Eric Pollard is always looking to construct the perfect ski for all conditions. The ALL NEW Mordecai ski is the answer! Developed by Eric and our team of Engineerds, the Mordecai is for those who choose a wider platform ski to slash, butter, spin and float through powder and crud all around the mountain. Featuring the very light Partly Cloudy Core™ and Thin Tip™ construction, there is no other 114mm waist ski on the market this light and nimble. What’s a Mordecai? It’s a Bacon in bird form. Quick and nimble but able to float and fly over everything. ", says Liberty.
