Reviewer DellaSausa

"Most of all I want float in a freeride ski. And I like to be able to ski back to the lift in style. That means that the most extreme pure rocker skis are not my favorites. Versatility is key for my freeriding."

All fun is off-piste

The K2 Annex 108 for me is a pure freeride ski. This ski is flexible, good dampening and turns very easy in fresh powder snow. With the Annex 108 everyone is able to go off piste. It’s fun and relaxed. And for me it was possible to speed up off piste and enjoy surfing large turns. For rating the Annex 108 I balance the good off-piste qualities with the less piste qualities and compare it with similar dimension skis (Rossignol Soul 7). Combining all aspects the Annex 108 gets a 3 star rating from me.

Skiing to the lift

For freeriding the Annex 108 gets the thumbs up. But… on piste it’s hard working to get back to the skilift. When on freeriding skis my goal is to get as less groomers as possible of course, but sometimes inevitable, so I test it. On piste this ski turns difficult. It’s hard to get the Annex 108 on the edges for carving on piste. And speeding on piste… it’s not done with this ski. On piste no fun at all for me, despite its 70% camber! In the same dimensions there are skis that cover the prepared slopes better in my opinion. So Annex 108 ski is for me a pure off-piste ski.

K2 about the Annex 108

"The Annex 108 features tip taper for easy initiation in soft snow, a kick-tail for maneuverability, and a metal construction for the stability required to charge tight chutes, rip untouched bowls, or blast through your favorite stash with rock solid confidence and control", says K2. I fully agree for off piste! On piste this ski is hard working. So for a week around the resort you might wanna have something else as well.
