Advanced level freeride skier
Heyman's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"One-Ski Quiver: the ultimate ski that carves like a slalom ski, accellerates like a GS ski, is as comfortable as an all-mountain ski, cuts through chop like a freeride ski and surfs in bottomless powder like a fat powder ski. Impossible. But which ski comes closest?"
My favourite one-ski quiver:
1. Stöckli Stormrider 95
2. Atomic Automatic 102
3. Head Venturi 95
To all my reviews
Extremely playful and versatile
The Head Venturi 95 is capable of almost everything. With 95mm underfoot floatation in deeper snow is not a problem. The early rise lightweight tip and tail ensure effortless turning in the most difficult of circumstances. Dampening is good so you can race through chopped-up snow and over bumps. But on the groomers the Venturi 95 is a real revelation. The skis generate so much edge grip combined with a relatively small radius, that you almost think you're on a pair of slalom skis. So these skis float like a freeride ski, are as comfortable and stable as an all-mountain ski and they are fun, agile and nimble as a slalom ski. Wow, how about that for versatility!
This ski is made for...
Every advanced and expert skier that is in search of a true one ski quiver. The one ski that can do it all, every day and in all circumstances imaginable. The ski that is quite lightweight but never starts vibrating at whatever speed you rip the mountain. The ski that is so much fun carving on piste, going almost horizontal through the truns, hand down on the snow. If you are a skier like that, like me, the Head Venturi is worth a very fat 5 star rating.
Head about the Venturi 95
"The Venturi 95 is a versatile freeride ski with amble grip and response for groomers and a forgiving flex pattern and plenty of flotation for the zones beyond the ropes. All-mountain features include a bombproof Sandwich Cap Construction, durable Structured diecut UHM C Base and the rocker, camber combo of all-access TNT Rocker. Tuffwalls provide impact resistance and shock absorption, while TTS and ISS-Independent Suspension System calm chatter for a smoother ride.", says Head. True and the Venturi is so much more. I'm not used to ski manufacturers making an understatement in describing their ski, but this certainly is one.
