Advanced freeride skier
Craig's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"Powder bump runs with numerous face shots, creamy untracked pow turns, and even huge carve turns on empty groomed runs at the beginning of the day are my favorite. I am not a high speed skier."

Great choice for resort powder skiers
DPS has been expanding their light weight, lightly damped, "Pure 3" construction, to a more user friendly, slightly heavier, and damper ski, that is more suited to the inbounds resort skier who deals with cut up, and variable conditions. The DPS Lotus 124 Foundation construction answers this call! This ski will be a carry over from this season, and for good reason. The laminate is made up of unidirectional carbon, triaxial fiberglass, and bamboo-poplar wood.
With this skis above average edge grip, it makes beautiful carve turns at all radius, with excellent edge engagement, on groomers with consistent conditions, and loves high edge angles. Stability on cut up, and skied off areas is surprisingly good.
This 124 underfoot pow ski performs excellent in soft bumps, with good torsional stability, medium-soft flex, moderate damping, and a large sweet spot.
The DPS Lotus 124 Foundation has a more traditional sidecut compared to the wide front section of the DPS Wailer 112RP. With moderate damping, low camber underfoot, and med-soft flex, the Lotus 124 is stable, and performs very good in pow, with average flotation for this width underfoot. It is a top pick for the resort skier, looking for a lighter weight powder ski, with good stability, and high performance all over the mountain.
DPS about the Lotus 124 Foundation
"Welcome to an exciting new blend of everyday accessibility, and powder planing performance. The Wailer 112RP2 changed the design paradigm in terms of creating a new level of powder versatility. When designing the next generation 120mm+ class powder shape, we wanted to add a sprinkle of that 112 influence to tryuly endow the F124 with performance in mixed snow. It had to be easy to ski when the going gets tough, yet still have the DNA to charge. The F124 greatly benefits from the planted, stable, and amazing feel of the new Foundation bamboo-popular based construction.", says DPS.
