Advanced+ level all-mountain
skier Heyman's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"A true all-mountain ski is as good off-piste as it is on-piste. Stiff enough to remain stable at top speed, flexible enough for comfort in poor circumstances. It is essential that the perfect all-mountain ski performs well in all conditions."
My favourite all-mountain skis:
1. Armada TST
2. Nordica NRGy 100
3. Atomic Vantage Ritual

Full rocker all-mountain ski
The Völkl RTM 84 has a full rocker profile, a very early rise in both tip and tail and no camber underfoot. That is highly unusual for all-mountain skis, that almost always have traditional camber in the middle to adhance precision, edge grip and rebound when coming out of a turn. So does the lack of traditional camber mean that the RTM 84 lacks all those important characteristics? Not at all, that's the beauty of this ski. Miraculously Völkl has managed to combine that playful, nimble and easy feeling that rocker provides with the seriousness of camber, by stiffening up the skis to enhance torsional rigidity. The RTM 84 has a surprisingly fast edge switch, it carves beautiful long turns and short turns are easy. It floats over bumps and in deeper snow. Only when you go straight down full throttle, the skis get a little nervous. But then again the Völkl RTM 84 is not a race ski.
This ski is made for...
This ski is made for ambitious intermediates and sportive advanced skiers, who desire one ski for the whole season. That one ski that performs in all circumstances, on hard pack, on bumps and even off-piste. That one ski that is both an easy cruiser and a sharp carver at the same time. That one ski that is agile and floats over every obstacle.
Völkl about the RTM 84
"Measuring 129 mm at the shovel, with titanal and full rocker profile, the much-touted RTM 84 covers an enormously broad range of uses, making it extremely sporty on any terrain", says Völkl. I couldn't agree more.
