Reviewer Alex

"I like rocker for easy turning and float off-piste. Tip vibration doesn't bother me at all. Of course versatility is a condition for a quality all-mountain ski. It depends on snow conditions whether I prefer frontside skis."

The looks, the size, the performance

Well, the Salomon BBR 10.0 is something I can get really enthusiastic about. The size of the BBR is enormous, wide and long, at the maximum of what I call an all-mountain ski. When you pick them up, you just can’t wait to try them out. Will I be able to handle them? How are they on piste? At this size the hope for an easy freeride in powder is evident. Even this wide under the feet, the biggest BBR is able to turn on the edge on the piste. Not the most fantastic part of this almost freeride ski, but I have no problem getting to the lift again. Then in powder the real joy starts. BBR 10.0 floats, turns and lets you enjoy the sensation of powder as it is. I would place this ski almost in the freeriding category. Salomon doesn't as it is a frontside ski and for pure freeride there bigger and better ones.

10.0 made for freeriding

On the first day it started dumping snow, I took these boys to serious business. Although serious business was more pure adrenaline based fun. This is what I like. You feel that this Salomon ski is challenging you to try them out and to stay in control. And when you do that, the excitement you get is fantastic. So big and still versatile, the ski let’s you enjoy the terrain. No hassle or it must be carrying them to get to your starting point. It is worth it. With fresh snow on the groomed (and used) piste the BBR will simply cut through the loose snow. Size and stiffness of the ski take care of that. With a 145 Side Cut Tip, the two ski’s together have a snowboardsize float.

Salomon about the BBR 10.0

"For strong skiers who want more fun in more conditions. BBR 10.0 uses the versatility of the V-shape and a metal backbone reinforcement to give expert skiers a single ski to tackle everything in the resort and far beyond the boundries.", according to Salomon. I am not an expert skier and I had a fantastic time with these BBR's. In the resort the ski is more for showing off while having a drink. The far beyond aspect is what it is all about for me.
