Reviewer Heyman

"A good frontside all-mountain ski is an agressive carver to lay trenches on the groomers and should also be able to handle bumps, skied of pistes and up to 10cm of fresh snow. A combination of a sportive character and comfort."

Lightweight all-mountain ski

The Rossignol Experience 78 is a supple all-mountain ski for every snow condition on-piste. It is very lightweight and manoeuverable and surprisingly precise in the turns. The Experience 78 provides a smooth and comfortable ride without getting boring. It has enough edge grip for a fast wide carve turn, but is easy to drift as well. All in all a fine ski for the intermediate skier who wants a comfortable ski for the whole week and doesn't look for the extremes. The lightweight construction makes the Rossignol Experience 78 ideal for people who hate carrying heavy skis. You would expect the low weight to reduce the stiffness and stability of this ski. But that turns out better than expected. Obviously the experience 78 is no racecarver, but the speed limit is quite acceptable.

Rossignol about the Experience 78

"The Experience 78 is an incredibly versatile all-mountain ski for aspiring expert to advanced skiers. With the heart of a frontside carver and a freeride touch and feel this powerful one-ski-quiver delivers enhanced performance for easier progression in all snow conditions. Auto Turn Rocker Extended Sidecut and Cascade Tip combine for easy maneuverability playfulness and effortless speed control. Traditional camber underfoot delivers powerful edge grip and confident stability.", says Rossignol. I agree with the "easier progression in all snow conditions". But to me the Experience 78 is for the intermediate to aspiring advanced level skiers. I'm not enthousiastic about the looks though. The top sheet is a dull brown colour and the cascade tip (although good for grip and precision) looks like a pekinese nose.
