Reviewer Heyman

"A true all-mountain ski is as good off-piste as it is on-piste. Stiff enough to remain stable at top speed, flexible enough for comfort in poor circumstances. It is essential that the perfect all-mountain ski performs well in all conditions."

Light and playful all-mountain ski

The Nordica NRGy 80 is not made for going straight downhill at a dazzling speed. And that is the only thing the NRGy 80 is not superb at. All other performances are just outstanding. The torsional stiffness and the longitudinal flex make a tight carve turn feel like you're a train on rails. There's just absolutely no chance these skis will drift off line. The edge grip is insane! Lean into that turn, lean more and more and more until you go horizontal. And remember this is an all-mountain ski, not a race carver. Phenomenal. The flexible tip provides a lot of float in deep snow and the low weight makes the NRGy 80 highly maneuverable even in the most difficult of circumstances. A highly deserved 5 star rating is in order.

What length?

I tested the Nordica NRGy 80 at a 185cm length and I think that is just a little bit too long. Intermediate skiers and advanced skiers who don't go too fast won't be bothered. But at top speed the tip chatters too much. The very light construction of the NRGy 80 combined with the considerably large shovel can not deliver enough stability in the ski. So my advice would be to take the Nordica NRGy 80 at a 180cm length max.

Nordica about the NRGy 80

"The NRGy 80 is the most modern and versatile all mountain ski in our collection. Featuring a unique lightweight torsion bridge TI construction, it has the power and stability of metal with a playful lightweight feel. A master of all conditions and terrain, it’s the ultimate one ski quiver.", says Nordica. It is an excellent ski. The versatility and playfulness are outstanding. Any intermediate and advanced skier is bound to have great fun on the NRGy 80.
