Reviewer Craig

"All-mountain skis will be my choice when conditions vary from firm to 6" of fresh snow. Better edge hold and carving capabilities should be expected compared to my powder skis. They should be competent in crud and soft bumps."

Great Colorado one ski quiver

We had 11 inches of fresh Vail snow for my first two days on the 113 Variant. This ski has very similar characteristics to the narrower Variant 97. Please check out my review of this ski for more details. The 113 floats through untracked pow, carves through crud, and flows through powder bumps like a Caddy (automobile)! I was thoroughly impressed with it's performance in the bumps. You can dive the tip into the bump face, knowing that this damp ski will provide smooth absorption, without being deflected, or carve through the bumps with supreme stability, it's your choice. It's edge hold on groomers is also impressive, with similar carving characteristics to the Variant 97.

Who is this ski for?

Who is this ski NOT for: those who covet a light weight undamped ski. You won't find this ski on the low calorie diet menu (it does have metal in it's layup, and that suits me just fine), but don't go short on sizing!

Ski tech info

Traditional mount, edge angles: 1 degree bottom, 2 degree side. Sharpened tip to tail with no detuning. Test size 186 cm.

Liberty about the Variant 113

"Powerful edge grip and stability at speed on any snow surface. Titanal layer, stiff tail and Hammer Rocker inspire confidence in terrain with consequences. Whether touring to access the best lines, lapping the sidecountry, or just demolishing your resort, you can count on the Variant113.", says Liberty. My experience was that with the Variant 113 you can crush any snow deck, stable, secure and fast. Very versatile for such a wide ski.
