Advanced level all-mountain

Considering his skiers profile:
Good on soft and firm groomers
Atomic Vantage X 80 CTI is in a lot of ways the easier version of typical piste race skis. It is the successor of the Blackeye Ti ARC and the most striking difference to me was the weight difference, the Vantage X 80 CTI feels a lot lighter on your feet. I have tested the Vantage X 80 CTI at 180 cm length and had certainly no problem controlling the ski. You can read that as still quite forgiving. If it hadn't been that way I rather had taken one size smaller. Besides that bit more comfort the Vantage X 80 CTI provides it is still a stable ski and performs nice in longer turns. Especially on softer groomed slopes the edge grip is fantastic. Once the snow gets firmer, it is still good on the edge, just not a race ski of course. Switching is quite easy and smooth and a tiny bit more comfy than on the Vantage X 83 CTI, which is understandable. With a focus on performance on piste, the Vantage X 80 CTI is a 4 star ski for me.
Ski aggressive on bumps
That the Atomic Vantage X 80 CTI is quite stiff, is very well noticeable once you hit bumpy slopes. This is certainly the moment you want to ski it aggressively or you'll be bumped out of the game. No problem, skiing is sport, but just that you know the Vantage X 80 CTI is not one of those bendable superflexible skis that adjust themselves for you. I like that, the Vantage X skis are serious enough to have good sport with. For me not very suitable in sidecountry, focus on piste where it is fast and turns very easy. Maybe early intermediates have a toughy on the Vantage X 83 CTI, but above that it will fit if you like a ski like this. An in between race and backside all-mountain ski for all conditions on piste. Easy on soft groomers and wants to be skied with energy and effort on the bumpier parts.
Atomic about the Vantage X 80 CTI
"The Atomic Vantage X 80 CTI is part of our new lightweight system ski series with the perfect blend of piste power and all-mountain agility. With its 80mm footprint it’s a great mid-waist model, built for all-mountain skiers who love to carve nice turns on piste – and then venture off the side from time to time. It features Vantage’s lighter, stronger construction with Carbon Tank Mesh, a layer of rigid woven mesh that adds strength across the ski while reducing weight. Plus a Power Woodcore, Titanium Backbone 2.0 and extra-full Firewall for solid edge grip. Then we’ve given it a sportier shape and thinner waist ideal for harder snow. We’ve also added our new Exo Profile – a radical 3D profile that cuts swing weight and adds even more rigidity for riding on piste. The successor to our best-selling Nomad Blackeye Ti, but 20% lighter.", according to Atomic.
