Advanced level all-mountain

Considering his skiers profile:
Easy versatile comfort ski
Atomic Vantage 85 (tested at 173 cm) is the successor of the Vantage Panic and is relative easy to ski. The easiest in the Vantage all-mountain series by far. In no aspect the Vantage 85 is a bad ski, it simply is a ski without extremes. A bit of everything, and that way it supplies a lot of fun for intermediate level skiers. Chance is that if you are a quick learner you will outgrow the ski soon. On the other hand if comfort and versatility is important for you, it can be a good match of course. Personally the Atomic Vantage 85 is not enough for me, I reach the limits of edge grip, speed and floatation too quickly and therefor only 2 stars.
Helpful and forgiving for intermediate level
Lets assume you are an intermediate skier, what can you expect from the Atomic Vantage 85? Very easy and fluid turning, both by the flex and the light weight of the ski. And with 85 mm under the foot it is still very easy to get on the edge and switch. The performance is medium to me in almost every way but in forgivingness it stands out. No need to be afraid of the bumps anymore, the Vantage 85 will help you by not punishing mistakes. On groomers you can let it run the radius on the edge, no punishment by strond rebounds here either. And take it in side-country and it has just enough float to play around or to first experience some powder snow. No bottomless fresh snow, but it handles a nice layer without diving. The Atomic Vantage 85 is for relaxed cruising all around the ski resort and/or to improve yourself when you don't have a lot of ski experience yet.
Atomic about the Vantage 85
"If you want an all-mountain ski that really performs on the piste, you’ll love the Atomic Vantage 85. It’s an easy-to-handle option that works all over the whole mountain – but with a directional shape and less tail turn up that means its piste performance is incredible for an all-mountain ski. Like all our Vantage series it’s both light and strong, helped by its Light Woodcore made from poplar. It also features the Vantage Firewall, an extra full sidewall for awesome power transmission and edge grip, plus an 85mm waist width and All Mountain Rocker in tip and tail. All combining to make Vantage 85 seriously versatile.", says Atomic.
