Reviewer Alex

"I like rocker for easy turning and float off-piste. Tip vibration doesn't bother me at all. Of course versatility is a condition for a quality all-mountain ski. It depends on snow conditions whether I prefer frontside skis."

Stable and good float all-mountain ski

The Atomic Vantage 100 CTI is the widest in the Vantage series. And skiing and comparing the 100 CTI with the 90 CTI, there is a big difference. First with at a 100mm wide the largest has more float of course but especially the difference in stability strikes me. The Vantage 100 CTI holds your line with ease, crushing any old tracks. And although the Vantage 90 CTI has enough rocker (15%) for a good amount of powder, the 100 CTI with its' bigger rocker (20%) provides even more confidence and control. At higher speed and long turns the Atomic Vantage 100 CTI is at its' best. Shorter turns is harder work. This is especially felt on bumpy terrain. In this case I like the predictability at speed of the tested ski, Vantage 100 CTI, a lot. Plus the float for deep powder makes it very versatile. This is a 4 star ski for me, very nice.

On piste performance

As the Atomic Vantage 100 CTI is an all-mountain ski, you may expect something on piste too. And it does perform well on groomers, but not in every snowcondition. When the piste gets icy and tough, the Vantage 100 CTI gets a bit nervous. Edge grip is not bad, but has limits when you enter this terrain. Edge switch is not very fast, which also doesn't help for shorter turns. Once the groomers give you some space, you can let it run and it is fun and easy to ski. This improves once the snow gets softer. And the softer it is, the more you can ski the Atomic Vantage 100 CTI to the full radius turns. And here the stability helps to get a fast comfy ride too.

Atomic about the Vantage 100 CTI

"The Atomic Vantage 100 CTI is the widest ski in our Vantage series – and the best in powder. Vantage is our progressive all-mountain range built to be super light but still seriously strong – so it’s great on hard pack and equally good in soft snow. To create that combination Vantage skis feature Carbon Tank Mesh, a layer of rigid woven mesh that adds strength across the ski while actually reducing weight. That’s on top of a Titanium Backbone 2.0 that ensures exceptional running stability. This ski also features the Vantage Firewall, an extra full sidewall for awesome power transmission and edge grip on hard pack. And it has a Power Woodcore and All Mountain Rocker for exceptional performance all across the mountain.", says Atomic. Every soft snow condition is a joy with Vantage 100 CTI.
