Advanced all-mountain skier
Jocelyn's rating of this ski:
Considering her skiers profile:
"I like my ski to be comfortable and handling bumps and loose snow without effort. I don't go off-piste more than on the side of groomers. A typical all conditions on the piste skier with comfort and style as priorities."
My favourite all-mountain skis:
1. Armada TSTw
2. Head Total Joy
3. Nordica NRGy 90

All-mountain ski for ladies
The Affinity Storm is the widest all-mountain ski by Atomic for women in the Affinity series. Due to the used technology the Storm ski should be versatile, and it is. It gives you control on every type of piste. The ski is very stable and fine for carving. Having said this, the Affinity storm is not a very playful ski, and this is what I missed. Therefore I give this ski 2 stars. So there was not a perfect match between me and the Affinity Storm. However, if you are a controlled skiing lady, and looking for easy handling I would advise this ski.
My affinity with the ski
I had the privilege to test the Atomic Affinity Storm on a beautiful day. Fresh powder on slopes and the sun was shining. The perfect conditions to test this ski. But after 30 minutes skiing on this ski, I got bored. Bored because, this ski is always in control, the turning is easy and there is always perfect grip. So yes, this is a ski on which you don't have to work really hard to let the ‘magic’ happen. But for me I like some more playfulness, more adventure in a ski. Skiing the side country had the same story. Very predictable performance and that is probably a pro for a lot of skiers.
Atomic about the Affinity Storm
"The widest Affinity – best in the range for side-piste skiing. Affinity is our colorful and fun piste ski for women. It’s for those days when you want to feel in balance – cruising smooth and easy down the piste or side piste, letting your skis and your body do the dance they know how to do, and just enjoying being out in the mountains.", says Atomic. It is absolutely true the Affinity Storm gives you effortless ski control. So if you are not looking for a thrill, some easy turning and continuously grip, I would advise this ski. But if you want to have a bit more adventure, then the Scott Reverse for example is a better option.
