Intermediate+ level piste
skier Alex's rating of this ski:
Considering his skiers profile:
"On piste I like the shorter slalom turns better than the longer turns, it feels more dynamic. As I usually ski all day long, I like my skis to be a challenge but not too stiff, so I can carve and cruise at the same time."
My favourite piste skis:
1. Stöckli Laser SX
2. Rossignol Hero Elite ST Ti
3. Stöckli Laser SL
To all my reviews
Balanced and variation in turns.
The Blizzard G-Power FS IQ is a typical performance ski. Something in between a race ski (slalom or giant slalom) and the frontside all-mountain skis. All still in the recreational department of course. The bonus points of the G-Power FS IQ are deserved by the ease of variation in your turns. This piste ski is fast but not bloody fast as in too hard to control. Most groomer skiers will be able to do their thing. Going slow, going fast, performance stays fine. It forgives enough for us mortals to do the last run down with tired legs. The G-Power FS IQ is a nicely balanced ski. Speed, edge hold, stability, all go together and you can vary the way you like it.
Piste skiers below racing
As this Blizzard ski is not a race ski, good skiers who are looking for extremes will find the limits of the G-Power FS IQ. Good skiers who want to improve to be able to enjoy race skis, will love this frontside performance ski. Plus everyone who likes that tiny bit of comfort in forgivingness at times. Personally I can push the ski quite far, full power in my turns and feel the edge hold all the way. And that without being catapulted without mercy, which in the race department makes it hard for me to do all day. The Blizzard G-Power FS IQ is a good nice ski for a lot of recreational skiers who like to stay on prepared slopes around the resort.
Blizzard about the G-Power FS IQ
"IQ POWER is a full suspension technology that has an integrated dampening and binding system that provides maximum on-snow stability with excellent rebound energy. A carbon fiber interface with camber is built into the ski resulting in a high performance ski that is very easy to handle and gives back energy. Built directly into the binding system, is a bi-directional floating piston oil damping system that reduces vibration up to 15 times faster. The combination of the two systems makes up IQ POWER. The G-Power FS is built for the front side skier who is looking for a ski that offers tremendous front side capabilities with the highest in performance. This ski likes speed!", says Blizzard.
Fischer RC4 Superior Pro: even faster piste ski with nice mid-range radius.
Stöckli Laser SX: cross ski which is fantastic for shorter turns and aggressive playing.
Head i.Supershape Speed: allround piste ski they say, but oh so fast.
