Yellow Gentian for independent ski and snowboard reviews
Why the name Yellow Gentian?
The uppergod of snowfall lets us know by this alpine flower how much snow is to be expected in the coming winter. Thickness of onionshell, fur of lynx, amount of food eaten by birds, all are fine for predicting low temperatures, but we want snow! Behind the great story of our favorite flower is the idea that it needs the snow surface to spread its seeds. So the higher the yellow gentians grow, the more snow is expected, plausible right? Especially as we have no knowledge of weather forecasting, we want large yellow gentians at the end of summer.
This snow predicting flower grows widely in the Alps and health and medicinal effects are ascribed to it. Besides that, the roots are an ingredient for liquors but mind you, the plants are a protected species. The Yellow Gentian flowers can be found between 750 - 2500 meters above sealevel and the season is mainly in July and August.
About The Yellow Gentian Team
The reason we started Yellow Gentian is that we couldn’t find what we were looking for: independent reviews by comparable skiers and snowboarders in level and discipline.
A bit of explanation:
We would like to help you a step further in making your choice. If you want to choose a new snowboard or ski, you should actually test everything yourself. A lot of people don’t have that opportunity. That is why we test and give you individual opinions from each one’s perspective, preference and personality. The market for skis and snowboards is big with a lot of brands. So we choose to focus as follows:
It’s all about individual opinions, so take it as serious as you want. We, the Yellow Gentian Team, do this because to us skiing and snowboarding is the best way to live.
